- The goal of this project was to develop a website that would provide the distributors of enLux Lighting with an easy-to use system for online shopping. In addition, the site administrator would have a more comprehensive content management system to manage users, products and orders.
Concepts & Planning:
Net-Craft specialists performed a in-depth research of customer needs in terms of graphic, usability, and possibilities to work with website content independently – including the placement of products, static content, management of users, orders, and discounts. During the graphical stage our artists worked with the client concerning brand identity and logo development.
The website preparation process included a detailed discussion of site specifications and the creation of an SRS (Site Requirements Specification) document before programming began. The resulting SRS document detailed all of the logical business processes of the website.
Net-Craft then began to develop unique graphical website concepts for the client’s review. After feedback and a few rounds of revisions a main graphical website theme was selected by the client.
User Interface Features:
The enLux website includes many features for website users to make their shopping experience easy and convenient. The list of features includes:
- a secure, multi-item shopping cart with real-time credit card processing
- viewing of products by different categories/groups
- product search by different criteria
- the ability to create an account for storing user details such as billing, shipping, username, and password information, viewing order history, and registering for exclusives.
- the ability to post a question for the support team.
- the Distributor Map that allows each user to see where the distributors are located and their detailed information.

Content Management System & Back-end Feature Set:
Net-Craft built a highly sophisticated and scalable back-end content management system that allows the site administrator incredible real-time control of the site elements. Back-end functionality includes:
- The content management module allows full control over the text elements of the website except the product catalog. It includes text, images, news, description pages. Also the client has the ability to create new items in the top menu and new pages in the administration panel.
- The customer management module provides full control and easy access to such information as shipping and billing details, logins, order history etc.
- The product catalog (Inventory) allows the adding of products to the system. Each product has a product number, its image (images uploaded by the client are auto-sized and formatted to make the process as easy as possible), description, price, different features like wattage, color of finish etc.
- The news module allows the administrator to add and manage news items, which are displayed in the front-and.
- The order management module allows the site administrator to view incoming orders, back orders, pending and completed orders.
- The distributors map module allows the administrator to add distributors’ locations to the US, Canada and World map.
- The message board module allows the administrator to answer distributors’ questions and see the history of the conversation.
- The discount module allows the administrator to create discount schedules and apply them to different distributors. The discount value depends on the product/group/category name and quantity of the product purchased.
- The RMA Requests module allows the site admin to view RMA requests posted by customers.
- The reporting module generates CSV reports for importing into MYOB software.
Project Summary:
As a result of the web development work performed by Net-Craft, an inviting and user-friendly web site has been developed that helps our client attract new customers and sales. It is an excellent and easy-to-use tool for all user categories to work.
