- A robust and custom developed secure E-Commerce store which includes a robust and feature rich Content Management System (CMS) to manage the hundreds of products and accessories carried. A custom graphic design that is easy to use and quick to load enables potential customers to quickly locate and purchase what they are looking for.
Concepts & Planning:
NetFloors.com began as an ambitious eCommerce store. The owners have been in the flooring industry as brick and mortar store owners for over thirty years. They had significant knowledge about running a flooring operation but turned to Net-Craft to help enable their online storefront. Our staff had numerous planning meetings with the client to discuss desired features and functionality. Wireframes and sitemaps were created to show the client the interaction between site elements and user navigation. Graphical site mock-ups were developed showing potential site motifs. Once a sketch was selected and the site-map approved the programming of the site began.
User Interface Features:
The NetFloors.com website is a fully functional and easy to use e-commerce store. Below is a brief summary of the user interface features:
- Browse flooring products by a variety of options such as manufacturer, product image, type, style, and price.
- View products delineated as specials or those on sale as marked by the site administrator
- Add multiple items and options to a electronic shopping cart
- Securely submit billing and shipping information
- Submit product questions and request for products not listed on the website
- Read articles and tips in the flooring product library
- Calculate the amount of product needed based on square footage and quantity included in each box
Content Management System & Back-end Feature Set:
The back-end content management system (CMS) at NetFloors needed to be full featured but also extremely easy-to-use per the clients' initial specifications. The CMS NetCraft developed for NetFloors hit the nail on the head. The rich functionality of the system includes:
- Static Content Editor: This module allows the administrator to edit the content of the static web pages of the site in a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) interface. The module is extremely intuitive, easy-to-use and allows 24 x 7 convenient access.
- Product Catalog: This module allows the administrator to enter and manage the hundreds of products and accessories sold on the NetFloors.com website. Each product has a host of individual attributes that are easily edited via drop down menus and other form fields. Products can quickly be taken offline via a 'pause' state if a product becomes temporarily unavailable.
- Order Management: This module allows for complete order management of existing and past customer orders. New order notifications are sent to the client via email and SMS notifications (if selected). The details of the order are logged into the CMS for client management. A confirmation email summarizing the order is also sent to the customer. A unique order identification number allows each order to be quickly located. The order identification number can also be used by a customer to phone in their billing information as opposed to entering it online. While speaking with the NetFloors, the customer would only have to give the order number to locate their shopping cart contents. The rest of the order process could then be completed via the telephone.
- Promotion Management: This module allows the client to define special codes that are linked to percentage discounts. These codes can be used by a customer during check-out which will generate the appropriate discount. Reports can be run by code and date range to indicate frequency of use, total dollars saved for Return-On-Investment (ROI) reporting purposes.
- Article Library: This module enables the administrator to add and manage flooring related articles. The posting of content is as easy as cut and paste.
- Email Module: The email module allows the administrator to input content into one of a NetCraft designed template. These HTML formatted emails can be sent to one or both of the email lists; prospective clients and past clients. Each email has automatic unsubscribe links located at the bottom ensuring compliance with no-SPAM law.
- Referral Code Module: This module allows the administrator to define a code which is also linked to a specified discount percentage. The code differs from the promotional code in that it can be given to a current client who then in turn can give that code to a friend. The friend would receive the appropriate discount and the original customer who receive a referral check. The details of each transaction are kept track by the Content Management System.
Internet Marketing Services:
When the NetFloors website was finished, our internet marketing team met with the client to discuss their internet advertising objectives. Based on our discussion with the client a monthly budget was decided upon. Based on the client's budgetary requirements NetCraft was able to tailor an internet marketing campaign. The ongoing website marketing campaign includes search engine optimization, Meta code editing, content writing, link directory partnerships, Pay Per Click (PPC) strategy, return-on-investment (ROI) tracking and other web marketing techniques. The result has been a steady month to month increase in visitors and site profitability.
Ongoing Support:
After the NetFloors website was complete, NetCraft continues to provide monthly support and hosting services. Support activities include: new feature implementation, existing feature tweaking per client request, patch application and other web consulting tasks.
